My fellow Americans. Today is an historic day of change; change we can all believe in. As you go to the polls today and cast your affirmative vote on Referendum 166 “Resolution for the Dissolution of Congress” YOU become the agent of change for this country.

If we intend to move this country into the future, into the Global stage, we need to begin to rid ourselves of the archaic ineffective baggage that we carry. Gone will be the days of career politicians pandering to the desires of wealthy lobbyists. Gone will be the days of partisan bickering and feuding only to end a session with nothing accomplished. Gone will be the days of pork barrel spending and superfluous earmarks. We’re tired of petty filibusters perpetrated from the golf course. We’re tired of six figure salaries for questionable ethics. And we’re tired of name calling and finger pointing.

More importantly, this resolution will free up 4.3 billion dollars annually in the budget that can be used to give relief to middle and lower income Americans suffering under the burden of high gas and food prices. That’s right… it cost 4.3 billion dollars annually of your hard earned money to feed this machine with little to no results. You deserve better.

This resolution returns the power BACK to the people. Your vote counts, finally.

When this vote is over and we begin this new chapter in American History, we will need to begin to look at the injustice of our Judicial system. We can do better. Brought under the oversight of the Executive Branch, we can streamline a broken Judicial system.

Vote today, and together we’ll make an America we can finally be proud of.

OK, so this is a ridiculous over-exaggerated example. My point is to show how a smooth talking ‘leader’ with an agenda could convince a people to relinquish all protections of freedom and liberty. The sad thing is that even this little speech that I wrote in 7 minutes at my lunch break would probably convince millions of Americans that it’s a good idea to ignore the Constitution and dissolve Congress… Just think what a REALLY adept speaker and a few well crafted TV ads could do…
